Fuck you Drury, it's time to retire

Incase you missed it, this is the latest headline on NYR.com... 'Drury to have surgery on left knee.. Tortorella tells reporters that captain will likely miss 6 weeks'

It goes without saying that I am ecstatic, as I'm sure most of you are, that Drury will be out of the lineup again. Guy's got 0 goals and 4 assists since coming back from his 'injruy.' In case anyone forgot, this is hockey. Guys get cut in the face and come back with a shield.

But that's not the issue I have with Chris Drury. The fact is, that fucking moron Sather gave him 7 mil a year. While it's a good thing he only has 1 year left on his contract, it's definitely time for waste of cap space to retire. This upcoming offseason, Callahan Dubinsky Boyle Gilroy and Anisemov are all RFA's. Callahan and Dubinsky are the future captains on this team. We need to lock them up for as long as we can at the right price. As far as everyone else, Anisemov has frustrated me to no end, but the guy's only 22 and he needs a contract. Boyle and Gilroy, how can you not want to extend a contract w/ how they have performed this year.

As if that isn't enough money the Rangers are going to have to come up with, you still have the problem of having no one to play with Gaborik. He needs that #1 center or he's pretty much useless. Solution, Brad Richards. Richards is an UFA this off season, and the Rangers should be throwing all the money they can at this guy on a 2-4 year deal. Where are they going to come up w/ this money? I have no fucking clue.

Contrary to what a bunch of fucking morons on the Ranger facebook page have been saying, Chris Drury is NOT in his prime. Besides the fact that he's 34, he can't stay in the lineup anymore because of injury as well as his poor play. Do us all a favor Drury, retire. Be a real captain and do what's best for this organization. With that 7 million off the cap for next year, we can give Richards the money he needs, while still having more than enough room to lock up the key role players on this team.

I realize all athletes no are all about the fucking money but come on. This guy wanted more than anything to come to the New York Rangers and be a leader when he hit the free agent market. If he could walk away from that money, this franchise would be indebted to him forever. In my eyes, just as great a leader as Messier.

Give him a job developing our young talent since that's all he's good for anyway. Give up that fucking 7 million for the good of this franchise. The Rangers are finally building a team that can win the cup, and I guarentee you if Drury let that money go to the organization, the Rangers will win at least 2 cups between 2012 and 2016.

Fuck you Drury. Do the right thing and stop stealing from this fucking organization.
